Bill McMurray grew up in Santa Cruz located in Northern California. A life long sailing enthusiast, from his teens through working in the sailing industry for race sailboat manufacturers in Santa Cruz California, Bill has competed in 4 Trans-Pac races, many coastal and Mexican distant races, hundreds of local and regional races, as well as world and Olympic trials events. Now he still enjoys opportunities to join friends on cruising adventures. Bill also enjoys the natural recreation opportunities that the McCall area has to offer: from downhill and nordic skiing in the winter to hiking & fishing along the trails and rivers and ponds in the surrounding area.

After graduating from San Jose State University where he studied Industrial Design, Bill worked in the sailboat manufacturing industry for several years before joining a Santa Cruz home building operation in 1988 as sales and marketing manager. Bill moved to Boise, Idaho in 1993 to assist in the opening of a national mortgage bank. After he received his Idaho Real Estate license in 1995, Bill moved to McCall in 1996. Originally acting as Project Manager for Spring Mountain Ranch, his responsibilities varied from Sale Manager to project development, and General Manager for the initial startup of Hearthstone, McCall’s first fractional ownership project.

Since opening Community Real Estate Company with his wife Kate in 2003, the market has seen some tremendous growth and now a dramatic slow down. Through this they have maintained a vision to have a focused group of real estate professionals with extraordinary product knowledge, ethics and enthusiasm for the greater McCall market. They have succeeded in attracting top notch agents and listing premier properties and the best communities in the area. They continue to strive to be the best they can be for their clients and customers. In 2008 Community Real Estate was the number 2 office in terms of dollar volume in the market and they continue to grow with quality agents and properties. As a selling broker Bill, keeps in touch with both his clients’ and agents’ needs.

Community Real Estate has recently moved to a new location to allow for some modest growth and the creation of a pleasant, convenient location and parking for their clients to feel good about stopping by anytime.

Bill’s involvement in McCall ranges from Chamber of Commerce board member and President to various advisory committees’s ranging from the McCall golf course to economic development. He currently serving as a board member on the Payette Land Trust and the Jug Mountain Ranch HOA.
